President Donald Trump is preparing to return to the campaign trail ahead of the November midterm elections, promising to help Republicans in key battleground races.
Speaking to GOP lawmakers at the White House, Trump said he plans to campaign in all 35 key races identified by Republicans as critical to maintaining their congressional majority. He also highlighted what he described as Republican accomplishments, including border security, trade deals, drug prices, jobs and crime.
Trump specifically praised Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and discussed the competitive Senate races Republicans are looking to win.
With Republicans facing the historic trend of the majority party losing seats in the midterms, Trump says he plans to make a major push one month before Election Day.
