Not only does the vacuum we left behind there give direct opportunities to the Communist nation to expand their mineral and lithium reserves, but it gives them greater leverage around the world. No longer will small nations looking for help — or even Western ones looking for allies — blindly trust the United States: “Who around the world will believe us again, when we go into some place, to say, hey, we can make your lives better?”
