Sen. Ted Cruz's initial reaction to the Venezuelan oil deal is that 65 billion barrels is a massive amount, and it is great that America is getting access to it.
But to be fair, do not expect this to have an immediate impact on gasoline prices. It will still take years or even decades to build up the infrastructure to produce all of that oil.
Plus, we cannot let this deal get in the way of bringing a fair and free election to Venezuela.
