Retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent Chris Hinkle joins David Pollack Primetime to discuss a federal crackdown on alleged drug trafficking operations in Los Angeles’ Skid Row.
Hinkle discusses federal complaints charging individuals accused of trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine and other drugs, as well as allegations that dealers exploited vulnerable residents experiencing homelessness. According to the interview, 23 of the 28 people charged were accused of trafficking drugs, while five remained fugitives at the time discussed.
Hinkle explains how federal drug trafficking investigations can operate alongside local law enforcement and why he believes sustained enforcement is necessary to address open-air drug markets, gang activity and violent crime.
The discussion also examines the role of federal authorities in addressing crime and the importance of ensuring vulnerable residents receive help rather than continued exploitation.
